No matter what—You can count on us to keep you in the loop of your students’ progress, throughout their time with us.
When you identify a student who could benefit from an evaluation by one of our specialists—let us know! At this point, all we ask is that you connect us via email with the student’s parents and we’ll take care of everything else!
We’ll reach out to parents to listen to any concerns, answer questions, and gather info on the student’s unique needs. We’ll also connect with the student's teacher, to get a clear sense of what they’re seeing in the classroom setting. Once our intake paperwork is completed by the parents, we’ll coordinate a time to conduct our evaluation with your school and the student’s teacher. Our evaluation will take place right at your school, during the regular school day!
We’ll share our evaluation report, results, and recommendations with your school, the child’s parents, and their teacher via email. We’re also happy to schedule an in-person meeting to review results and discuss next steps. Depending on your preference, we can schedule these meetings with parents and teachers individually or as a group.
Because each student is unique, each evaluation is, too. We rely on the information we collect from parents, teachers, and your school to help us understand a child’s areas of academic strength and struggle. Then, we customize our evaluation materials and procedures based on this information and what it shows us about a child’s likely areas of need.
The length of evaluation depends on the individual student being assessed and their unique needs. We tailor our evaluations to each child we assess, because no two educational needs are exactly the same. While some assessments are quick, others may be lengthy and broken up over the course of more than one session.
Once our evaluation is complete, our skilled therapists and specialists will review all their findings. We’ll create a report and will share this with your school and the student’s parents within two weeks.
That’s what we’re here for!
If our evaluation determines a student has needs we can address in therapy or through our educational support services—we’re ready to mobilize to deliver everything they need to succeed!
If intervention is warranted and agreed upon, we’ll work directly with your school to schedule the student’s sessions with our relevant Loop team members. Once we’ve received our intake paperwork from the student’s parents and our evaluation is completed—we’re good to go!
We’ll create and administer a customized therapy or learning support program, designed to meet each unique student’s needs. We’ll also take into account their personal likes, dislikes, and preferences—to keep therapy motivating and engaging for them, throughout their time with us.
A private speech, language, occupational therapy, or learning evaluation doesn’t always lead to the development of an IEP. But, having these services and diagnoses in place does streamline the process of applying for an IEP if a parent wishes to do so in the future.
Because The Loop is a certified CPS Vendor, our team can provide learning support and speech, language, and occupational therapy services to any child with an IEP and be reimbursed directly by CPS. We can also help your school complete all the paperwork for IEPs and 504 plans.
For students without an IEP, parents can elect to privately pay for our services. This requires only internal documentation about the evaluation and diagnosis. If parents want to pursue our services through their insurance, the child's diagnosis from our evaluation will be shared with their insurance provider, so we can bill their insurance directly.
Yes! We’re excited to announce that we’ve recently added behavioral therapy to our robust list of available therapy and educational support services. This type of therapy is ideal for families with children who struggle with mental health and behavioral issues. We’re proud to offer this vital support service to the families in your school system who can benefit from this powerful method of intervention.
Our behavioral therapist not only brings her extensive experience working in all settings of behavioral health, she’s also a certified yoga instructor who deftly blends proven tenets of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with mindfulness, movement, and positive reinforcement strategies. She’s also trained in crisis communication and de-escalation, and applied behavior analysis.
